Entering Thailand has become even easier with the cancellation of the TM-6 form

Thailand’s international airports are temporarily eliminating the requirement for foreign passengers to fill out the TM-6 immigration form. The measure is necessary to reduce congestion at the kingdom’s international airports, the Bangkok Post reported.

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha said he would shorten the process for foreign visitors, as many forms are now required to be filled out upon arrival in the country. This will help reduce congestion at airports as the number of foreign visitors arriving has increased, the prime minister added.

The Interior Ministry will make the necessary changes to the regulations within a week. Authorities will later assess the results of the cancellation of the TM-6 immigration form and decide whether to revise the procedure if they encounter problems in tracking foreign nationals in the country, Prayuth explained.

Thailand’s immigration police will continue to collect data on arriving foreigners through biometric systems at airports, while other data on travelers is provided by airlines, government spokeswoman Traisuri Taisaranakul added. And she reminded that foreign travelers entering Thailand by land or sea still have to fill out the TM-6 immigration form.

Thai nationals do not need to fill out the TM-6 immigration form as of 2017.
